I am a public speaker and consultant based in south Georgia. I have served as the Executive Director of Freedom Overground for more than 3 years since my release in 2020. Before then, I played a pivotal role in our inside-outside programming. Currently, I am a Peer Counselor at Wolfpack Counseling Hub. My areas of expertise are:

I prioritize the material needs of those I collaborate with and advocate for. Due to my lived experience in a society dependent on global anti-Blackness, I do not assume that everyone has had access to housing, healthcare, food/water, citizeship, community, and more. I have been locked up in prison for 9 years for self-defense against gender-based violence. Therefore, I can understand how long-term dispossession, abuse, and abandonment affects the body and mind. As human beings, we have a right to autonomy and agency in our lives. Part of my role is to facilitate toward more of an approach to consensual care/collaboration that is not paternalistic.
"Even when I admitted to violating one of my friend’s consent because of I lost myself in my own severe material conditions, Ky reaffirmed that consent is a fundamental value–while also showing empathy to how oppressive forces contributed to me acting out of my values (i.e. class oppression). I am curious as to how Ky will continue to develop his care approach and integrate his spiritual abilities which he briefly mentioned to me in the past. All in all, Ky is a wise soul that we all can learn from."

"I felt like my eyes are wide opened, my mind cleared after... 4 sessions with Ky. He has helped me understand my relationship with my father after having sessions with both of us separately. I see Ky as a village head, able to facilitate conflict and tension in interpersonal relationships that are worth the difficult journey of repair. He is also unwavering and rooted in his values."

“My heart swelled when I learned about his work at Wolfpack Counseling Hub! I have deeply benefited from the peer support and wisdom that Ky has offered, both to me personally and in the online communities we share. As a trans, disabled person living in poverty, I have struggled for decades to find support that is safe and accessible. Witnessing how Wolfpack is approaching peer support brings me hope that the isolation that I and so many of us live with can shift, that another way is possible.”
